The Jackson Minion is the smallest member of the JS family. This JS 1X Dinky has everything you might expect from a Jackson guitar, it’s just a lot smaller. Its body is about two thirds the size of a standard model. Furthermore, thanks to a short, 22.5” scale length, the frets are quite close together, ensuring that the Minion is very easy to play. This makes the Dinky Minion an ideal beginners guitar for children of about eight to twelve years of age. However, adults can also benefit from the JS1X, as its small size makes it an ideal travel guitar, so that you’ll have access to that great Jackson sound no matter where you are!

JS1X Minion: construction

Don’t let its small size fool you, the Jackson Minions are full-blown instruments. To ensure a balanced tone, the body is made of poplar. This wood type has the added benefit of being highly durable - ideal for an instrument meant for children or for use on the road. For added stability, the neck was reinforced with graphite. Furthermore, the headstock is angled backwards, just like it is on more expensive Jackson models. As a result, the string tension is evenly distributed, making it easier to play for extended periods of time without your fingers hurting. Finally, the Jackson Minion is fitted with two powerful humbuckers that allow for a wide range of tones that live up that true Jackson sound.
